DESCRIPTION
There is Sancerre and then there is Gérard Boulay. Aged on the lees in a combination of barrel and tank then bottled unfiltered. The 2023 shows incredible texture. Rightly named 'Les Monts Damnés' (the Damned Mountains), these slopes are so punishingly steep that farming them is considered a feat of endurance for even the most seasoned vignerons. The soils are similar to that of Chablis and produce wines that have a chalky, mineral quality and serious power. Boulay's wines are extraordinary.
