Armand Heitz 1er Cru 'Morgeot' Chassagne-Montrachet 2023
DESCRIPTION
The name Morgeot comes from the Gaulish word Morga, meaning "edge, boundary," which shares the same origin as the Latin word Margo, meaning "edge, border, boundary marker, frontier." Morgeot is, in fact, the name of a hamlet in Chassagne-Montrachet, located precisely on the departmental border between Côte-d'Or and Saône-et-Loire.
The 2023 is a rich chardonnay characterized by its mineral backbone. The wine undergoes 11 months of maturation in new oak barrels resulting in full-bodied round wine with subtle flavours of vanilla, nutmeg, and old cedar.
