DESCRIPTION
This 2023 Sancerre is a masterclass in the tension and "nerve" that only Chavignol can provide. Sourced from 35-year-old vines rooted in the fabled Kimmeridgian marls of the region’s premier slopes, it pours a brilliant, translucent pale straw with those characteristic youthful, verdant glints. On the nose, the expression is one of crystalline purity, a restrained, high-toned Sauvignon that bypasses simple fruit in favor of a profound, saline minerality and a wisp of Atlantic iodine. The palate is electric and focused, layering zesty Meyer lemon and succulent ripe grapefruit against a sophisticated savory backdrop of crushed fennel.
