My Love for Wine
I didn’t grow up in a family of wine drinkers. In fact, my only memory of wine was a jug of 'Chablis' that sat on the kitchen counter. Occasionally my mother enjoyed a glass over ice. Restaurant work funded my Bachelor's degree, and I quickly realized the importance of selling wine. Given my limited wine knowledge, selling was a challenge. A colleague said, "if you want to learn wine, you need to drink wine."
And so, the journey began. From my first glass of white Zinfandel, I was hooked. I read Wine Spectator like it was the Bible, tasted all sorts of different wines, visited Napa, and asked a million questions. Why is this wine more expensive than that one? Why are these fancy French labels so hard to understand? Wine from South Africa, really?
Today, I am a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers. I hold the prestigious WSET Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and I teach at the Commonwealth Wine School in Cambridge, MA. In case you haven't figured it out, I love wine and am excited to bring my personally curated collection to the Andover community.
