Evening with Henri Amandieu of Pierre Amandieu Vineyards in Gigondas, France

The Amadieu family has been rooted in the region since 1929, when Pierre Amadieu planted his first vineyards in Gigondas at a time when the appellation was virtually unknown. Today, under Henri’s leadership, the estate has grown to over 300 acres of vineyards and is recognized worldwide as a benchmark producer of Gigondas.

Henri Amadieu is not only an ambassador for his family’s estate but also an important voice in the Southern Rhône. He has championed careful vineyard management, respect for terroir, and a balance of tradition with modern techniques—all of which have elevated Gigondas to the world stage alongside the great crus of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Vacqueyras.

His wines consistently receive praise from top critics, with regular accolades from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
